AVG works great with Vista, NIS 2007 however, did not. Martin, I didn't leave AVG on long enough to mess with it. I was just waiting for NIS2007 to go on sale at Costco. Then chances are that the manual install did work and at worst the modules which it tried to update were blocked somehow, eg by a security program. BTW have you booted in the interim? That might make the update finish even if a boot isn't
